And If You’re In The Neighbourhood…

If you’re heading out to bring me a coffee while I’m exhibiting at State Of Design this weekend PLEASE do yourself a favour and check out these two amazing sales right around the corner afterwards.

So disappointing that I can’t go!

Friedrich Gray Studio Store SALE

If only I were in Sydney… sigh!

Dreadlocked

Lilya Snowbird Jacket

In the last five months I’ve amassed more jackets than I’ve owned in the previous five years. Usually a cardigan devotee for extra warmth in winter, I’m suddenly all about great jackets and can’t get enough. (Don’t worry you’ll get to see them all at some point over winter!) I’m really tempted to add this shaggy, dreadlocked cropped jacket to the collection.

I feel like this jacket is really out of character for my style (although I do have this disgusting burgundy faux-fur coat really old Sea Of Ghosts readers might remember that I scored at my local Op Shop for $10 which I just adore) so I can’t work out if this piece is wrong for the right reasons or just wrong for me.

Country Road AW10 Preview

Those who follow me on twitter will remember that Tuesday I visited my local Country Road store and was seriously impressed by the pieces in the new AW10 Preview collection. The new collection is said to be inspired by Parisian street chic. Highly coveted accessories already available include  the over-the-knee suede boots, the tough studded clutch and the super-sized fringe scarf that are all great multi-taskers this season.

My pick from the new collection is the leather biker and the amazing lurex knit (pictured above), but would you expect me to choose anything else? The lurex knit also comes in grey/silver and has an amazing chain maille medieval armour vibe. Definitely the kind of look I’d expect to see on Jak&Jil – which makes it Parisian street chic through and through.

Love Leather

I battled the crowds on Boxing Day but was feeling distraught that not only hadn’t I found any bargains, the only thing I had found was that the dress I’d bought last month and am saving for New Years was reduced by $80. Boo, hiss.

Right before I gave up completely I was coaxed into this little gem by my bad influence of a mother. As a leather lover from the womb, it’s difficult for me to resist leather products wherever I travel. I’m feeling conflicted over my non-Alegorie handbag purchase but I have very low inventory in the store at the moment due to Christmas sales and won’t be receiving any new collections until February. When I found this bag on sale for 60% off with it’s mixed leathers and aggressive hardware, I was fighting a losing battle anyway.

For those of you who ventured out on Boxing Day, tell me about your bargain buys!
