The Bricoleur

Tusk (2007)

“I’ve always been interested in how an object can be remembered and how that memory can be sustained and directed sculpturally, pulling things in and out of time, passing objects through the studio as a kind of filter returning them as new forms.” – Ricky Swallow

I finally made it down to the NGV today to see The Bricoleur exhibit by Victorian-born artist Ricky Swallow. While there were no boundary pushing pieces in the collection, I found it to be an inspiring (albeit small) exhibition of exceptionally crafted works. The Bricoleur ends on February 28th so I urge all Melbourne-based readers to head down to the NGV and check it out.
