Rick Owens FW14

It’s always a good morning when you wake up to a new Rick collection. Once again this is an instance of unusual casting which could have been cliché but could actually not be further from the case as most of the models work for or are personally known to Owens. They are just real women in his life, women we can relate to and women can aspire to.

The actual collection is fundamentally wearable which I love. Yes there are some pieces that are a little bit more avant garde such as the coat with the sleeves that start at elbow height and the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube hat (not pictured here), but overall the collection is made up of pieces that transition easily into every day life.

Being a FW collection the outerwear is the focus of each look but for me it’s the accessories that seal the deal. I am obsessed with the thigh-high Ramones and opera-length zippered gloves. I’m also madly in love with the moto leather leggings; the plastic knee-cap detailing is incredible.

Jump over to Style.com to see the rest of the collection.

now I’m very curious who each of these people are, not their names, but more what they do in the RO world. RO is one of those designers that I don’t care what’s shown on the runway, they’re always going to make that specific coat, dress, pants, skirts…in black.

The models, “models”, and accessories (thigh-high leather legging-trainer-boots!!) really pulled the whole show together for me. And while I’m enamored with the clothes (but of course), I do believe I “need” those insane moto leggings, at the very least..
