After being bed-ridden for days with a nasty cold I had to get out of the house today and run some errands I’d planned to take care of days earlier. As Melbourne is wont, the weather seemed ambiguous. A little wind, sunny but not warm… I compromised with a skirt and ankle boots combination, plus the addition of my beautiful new coat so long on lay-by and now finally mine.
I’ve got a lot of jackets but for some reason the perfect black coat has always eluded me. When I first saw this one slung limply on it’s hanger I dismissed it – until I saw someone else try it on. In it’s right context it transformed; instantly I knew it was the one. With a slight asymmetry to challenge the extreme minimalism of the style, it’s large lapel and waist belt give it enough versatility to be worn in a variety of different fashions. I also love the cleanliness of the concealed buttons and of course, the super-soft 100% cashmere outer which will keep me elegantly warm all winter.
