As my life changes and my style has cause to naturally evolve to suit, I’m finding that my everyday ensembles are becoming seriously uniform.
The Brim Tank is the fourth piece of ComplexGeometries I own cut from the same pattern. I also have the same cut tunic in all white jersey, the t-shirt in black jersey and the dress in black silk. It was never my intention to buy as many of this draped-back design as possible, I just know what I like and keep gravitating to it.
Although uniformity sits well with me at this time, I ask myself if I’m creeping back into that dark place of excess; betraying my quest for sartorial minimalism by bringing multiples of items into my wardrobe unnecessarily. I have felt this shame recently after I purchased a third Rick Owens Lilies twist tank which I am now SELLING. Again weeks earlier when I almost bought a little black asymmetric dress that looked identical to all my other little black asymmetric dresses (though triumphantly in the end I did not).
It is true, I am human; I try and sometimes I fail. With this tank however, it is actually just different enough to make the cut for keeps.
