I’m pretty excited to be heading off to the launch of Penthouse Mouse 12 tonight. Giving emerging and independent multi-disciplinary designers an innovative platform for promotion during the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival, Penthouse Mouse combines exhibition and retail space in order to provide visitors with an engaging experience like no other.
As I manifested in my New Year’s Resolution, when it comes to my wardrobe, I don’t have a “I mix high street with high fashion” philosophy; it encourages over-indulgence. I simply shop wherever I can find what I need. This agenda is about being discerning, not discriminating. Every part of my outfit for the event (except for my rings) has come from a cheap and cheerful chain store – but they all speak succinctly of my style and that’s why they were purchased. I loved the chiffon top so much I actually bought it in two colours.
I’m trying out centre-parting my hair; slicking my fringe down flat while I decide if I’m going to grow it out. I’ve worn my hair with some kind of fringe since about 2003, so going for the middle part terrifies me a little. I’ve got a widows peak, an uneven hairline and a cowlick which the fringe did a superb job hiding… but sometimes it’s just so high maintenance that I can’t stand it. What do you think?
