Sober
Maynard is one of my favourite vocalists; his smooth, resonant voice commands the same power and strength live as it does on his albums. I am very rarely not completely captivated by his honeyed tone, brought to silence wherever I am to stop and listen; aurally seduced by his sound.

hadn’t listened to tool in a couple of years, but I think I will get back into it! thanks for the inspiration.

BuBbles shared this comment on Jul 05 10 at 10:52 PMDo you know I never knew what the lead singer looked like all this time – and I’ve even seen them live twice at various festivals throughout the years!!
Thanks for sharing a brilliant song.

Lauren Goddard shared this comment on Jul 06 10 at 5:57 PMMy friend has a full on obsession with Maynard. He is SO SEXY. I could listen to tool all day long thanks to her.

I can’t ever get sick of Tool (or APC or Puscifer for that matter, but Tool is the first love). After all the years there is still always a new aspect of each song to mentally decipher; a riff, an echo, a lyric, an idea. Always hauntingly magical :-)
Jay shared this comment on Jul 06 10 at 11:35 PMI’ve been a Tool fan for over 12 years now, and I’ve yet to hear anything/anyone that even comes close to comparing to their music! Maynard’s just got the sort of stand-out voice that you can recognise even when you’ve never heard the song before – I get embarrassingly excited when I recognise his voice in one of his other projects (like the Outsider Remix used for the new Resident Evil trailer … all sorts of glee!).
He’s so hilariously odd.
a stylized hysteria shared this comment on Jul 07 10 at 1:08 PMGod, how I love Tool and A Perfect Circle (but Tool a little bit more). He sounds just as incredible and polished live as he does recorded.
Anonymous shared this comment on Jul 09 10 at 2:07 PMHow about a bit of credit to the rest of the band?
Miss Ghost shared this comment on Jul 09 10 at 5:01 PM@ Anonymous – Although this post is specifically referring to inspiration from vocals, you’re quite right. We musn’t forget! Danny, Adam, Paul… great track! xo
