The New Romantic

Thank-you mechanicalShdws for taking these photos.
I never took to the boho trend. No gypsy skirts or kaftans, no Sienna Miller hair, no cowboy boots and no ‘ethnic’ jewellery ever entered my wardrobe. So when I bought this shirt impulsively after seeing modelled so beautifully on the effortlessly chic Zanita, I’m not really sure what I was thinking. When it arrived my first instinct was to wear it with my resin-coated black jeans and combat boots. And it was perfect. It might be called the Boho Shirt but to me it couldn’t be more gothic/romantic. Now all I need is a cape and a raven.
White Shirt: Stylestalker
Black Jeans: Country Road
Black Boots: Wittner

Miss Peregrin shared this comment on Jan 19 10 at 10:36 PMI agree, that shirt is very gothic/romantic. It doesn’t seem at all like a boho shirt to me – but then, that could just be your styling, which by the way, is gorgeous.
Merowyn shared this comment on Jan 19 10 at 10:45 PMyou rock my blog world, the boots are lustable.

Jessy shared this comment on Jan 19 10 at 11:03 PMthis doesn’t even hint at boho. the styling is perfect, gentle grunge; i wouldn’t have it any other way.

Grace shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 3:03 AMI got no boho from this at all. My thoughts went straight to romantic. I’m glad you took the less conventional root and paired this with combat boots and reisin-jeans.
Love Grace.
Trista shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 5:05 AMI share your sentiment. I’ve never even experimented with hippie-ness. This is a great way to wear the shirt! Bravo.

Cake shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 12:41 PMYou look beautiful! Love the shirt and yes I’d say its very romantic… I can kind of see it on a man on the cover of some awful romance/erotica book about a shipwreck, and a maiden..
Great photos and love your lip piercing, not many people could pull it off.
valinda shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 4:21 PMThose pants are beautiful! I’ve been looking for pants like these for the longest time, they sorta look like leather ones but a bit classier. I’ll drop by CR tomorrow, hopefully they already have those in store here :)
Gabi shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 7:11 PMUmmmm can someone say gorgeous?
I also just love the different angles these photos are taken from.
When I saw the first photo and hadn’t read that someone else had taken them, my first thought was, HOW on earth did she take that herself???
LOVE your hair!
Faridah shared this comment on Jan 20 10 at 8:06 PMYou look amazing. I’m definitely seeing the grunge softened by romance. You’ve just perfected my ideal look. The photography is also stunning. Hey, have I mentioned how good this post is?

adele shared this comment on Jan 21 10 at 8:14 PMWith your outfit it looks much less boho than white drapery, which I have to say I much prefer. I love your boots, and your hair.

Dusk shared this comment on Mar 17 10 at 6:59 PMI love love LOVE this look on you! This is what you wore in that photo with Lady Melbourne and Fashion Hayley yes?
…after having a more thorough look through, I understand your comment now!! You’re not demure though. You’re striking. This is so neo-gothic….like something the Vampire Lestat would wear.
Miss Ghost shared this comment on Mar 18 10 at 1:56 AM@ Dusk – Your comment made me laugh out loud, thank you! I was sitting with LM and Hayley when I read it and they both thought I was crazy for laughing at my phone. It is what I wore! I think it’s very Lestat too! xo
