Happy new year to all my friends, old and new.
That’s you.

Your visits, comments and e-mails are adored and appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my little blog, I sincerely enjoy reading yours, although I may not comment every time I visit; please know our mutual exchange of thoughts, ideas and inspirations is absolutely important to me. I hope we can continue to inspire each other in the new year and beyond.

Here’s to another great year with you.

Hedi Slimane

Are you getting sick of skulls yet? Because I’m not, sorry. This post goes perfectly with the awesome Nicholas Morley for Sportsgirl skull necklace I scored today for 75% off. I wore them tonight with my Evil Twin Death Becomes Her skull tshirt.

Love Leather

I battled the crowds on Boxing Day but was feeling distraught that not only hadn’t I found any bargains, the only thing I had found was that the dress I’d bought last month and am saving for New Years was reduced by $80. Boo, hiss.

Right before I gave up completely I was coaxed into this little gem by my bad influence of a mother. As a leather lover from the womb, it’s difficult for me to resist leather products wherever I travel. I’m feeling conflicted over my non-Alegorie handbag purchase but I have very low inventory in the store at the moment due to Christmas sales and won’t be receiving any new collections until February. When I found this bag on sale for 60% off with it’s mixed leathers and aggressive hardware, I was fighting a losing battle anyway.

For those of you who ventured out on Boxing Day, tell me about your bargain buys!

Rose Street

Situated in the heart of eclectic Fitzroy, The Rose St. Artists’ Market utilises a former junkyard in the back streets of Fitzroy to display the work of up to 70 artists and designers each Saturday and Sunday, some emerging and some more established. Since its inception, The Market has gained the reputation of being one of Melbourne’s hidden treasures, wowing people with the high quality of work on offer.

The stalls are filled with typical Melbourne charm; original artworks and illustrations, quirky handcrafted jewellery and accessories, clothing and toys made from recycled materials and much more. Drink Me Alice has been sporadically sharing a stall with Nine Raven at Rose St since August this year, and today was the last market day of 2009. I was visited by the lovely Fashion Hayley and her husband Henry, who astutely remarked that it was the first time he’d ever seen me wearing colour(!).

Unfortunately I couldn’t get any shots of our stall because it was up against a back wall covered in bright graffiti which made it a nightmare to photograph, but you can vicariously enjoy the atmospheric market by checking out some of the other lovely stalls I photographed today. Visit www.rosestmarket.com.au for more information.

Estelle AW 2010

Now in its second season, Sydney label Estelle has brought forward a collection which takes winter back to a classic simplicity. The range channels the kind of stillness found in nature that the imagination feeds off of, and in turn radiates the same sense of calm and serenity that the mere act of being alone with one’s thoughts can bring.

My favourites in the AW 2010 collection include the Silk Georgette Top in Cream and Black Leather Pants. Estelle is available to buy online at http://www.estellestore.com/.
