Yay! I love competitions!
First up, I’d grab an ombre silk scarf & tie it around the strap of the leather bag, then make sure it was stocked up with all the essentials: iPod, rosebud lip salve, wallet, phone etc. My accompanying outfit would consist of Rodarte-esque open weave stockings worn with heeled Doc Martens (current obsession) & a black silk dress. I’d pile on an abundance of silver rings, & keep my makeup clean & minimalistic – just a slick of eyeliner & curled lashes. The molar necklace would sit on my clavicle as a final accent.
me too!
This look fits in perfectly with my when-i-lose-those-couple-extra-kegs wishlist!! …
I would take these incredible floral Cacharel for Liberty shorts http://modculture.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83451cbb069e201156ea88edf970c-800wi
worn with a short sleeved, slightly sheer, shirt- with a pocket and rounded collar w/ embroidered detail. Tucked in- worn bra-less & unbuttoned (barely there boobs required) to show off the necklace.
Necklace worn layered with a long chained locket.
Jeffrey campbell 99 wedges.
YSL Arty ring.
And a loose braid, side of head.
Bag loosely slung on shoulder.
Summer fun perfecto!
I. LOVE. THAT. NECKLACE.
I’d start off by wrapping the bag up in some pretty packaging to send off to whomever came in second place in the competition, because I don’t think I could carry the bag off, and giving gifts is fun. No point in it going to waste, eh?
The necklace however, I’d clutch in my hands and stare lovingly at, possibly having some sort of Gollum moment, before I’d style it in the following ensemble. I’d wear my Indigo-wash skinny Jeans, with my plain black Jag Belt and a pair of black Havaianas. On top I’d be wearing a Industry Singlet I saw in the store the other day which I have yet to go back and buy, which is this amazing sort of tie-dye/cosmic print, with this unbelieveable Hugo Boss Blazer I thrifted a few weekends ago. It’s a deep navy, double brested, with military-esque accents. Then, the piece de resistance! sitting pretty around my neck, my newly won Molar Necklace by Drink Me Alice.
I’d be wearing Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania and I’d be headed out into the balmy Canberra eveing of a Saturday, most likely headed to meet some friends for dumplings and G’n'Ts.
Good luck everyone (I really hope I win though…).
Xx
P.S. Loving the simplicity of today’s ensemble and you Mani!!! <3
oh yay! Love the necklace! I think the leather bag is a staple & would go with pretty much anything
buutt I would love to wear them with my newly acquired 99 zip wedges (I finally caved in & bought them after seeing you wearing yours!) and Black Milk Spartan leggings and a chambray denim shirt dress. Simple – but perfect outfit for going out
Oh, tooth necklace! Eee!
I would style both items as such:
- Cue white full skirt
- White and blue striped t-shirt (any label)
- Black Tony Bianco suede flats
- Layered necklaces, emphasis on chains of different sizes
- Unfussy hair! Bold red lips.
- The two items of focus
x
Great outfit, simple, comfortable and stylish!
those shoes are cute and the giveaway is great
my e-mail is whatevershesaid.blog@gmail.com xx
Wah, so cute! I’m going with a bit of an 80s theme.
I’d wear:
* Black tapered pants
* Chunky grey platform ankle boots with a stilletto heel
* Long silver top with a draped neck
* Black cropped boyfriend jacket
* Lots of silver bangles
* A silver brooch
And of course:
* The fab Molar Necklace
* The also fab Black Mini-Bag Gabee.
You can see what I think it might look at http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=13765602 and thanks so much for the chance to enter ^_^
O wow, you are too generous! I looooooooove Drink Me Alice, I have like 5 of your necklaces!
If I could style these pieces any way I want -
I would take a simple, super short white broderie anglaise 60’s shift dress that I found in an op shop at the beginning of this year, throw a huge flappy black hooded woollen vintage cape over the top so that it all but obscures the hemline of the dress. With this high hemline I would wear the most amazing vintage grey lacy tights that I dragged back all the way from England’s charity stores, then cap my pins with my vintage black triple-strap Mary Janes (three thick straps and three chunky buckles all atop chunky high heels!). If it was a bit cooler I’d wear my long satin black evening gloves, scrunched down towards the wrist. Of course I would also be wearing my trusty silver grey-faced watch.
For hair I would leave things quite simple – a thick thick thick blunt fringe and thick dark straight hair and some red or tangerine lips to add a dash of colour. Then I’d wear the Molar necklace and sling the bag across my body and dance for a bit in my bedroom with joy at having such lovely things before heading out. Of course that last bit would be a secret known only to myself.
I’d style those little goodies with a sense of humour, some summer loving, a dash of pretension, five shakes of a lamb’s tail, a bunch of carnivorous flowers, an egg shaped eighties jumpsuit with shoulder pads as wide as the Nullarbor Plain and an expression of uncomplicated joy.
PS. I have finally blogged the tusk necklace from Alegorie which I love so much.
definitely, minty meets munt tuxedo tank in white, a bandage skirt (i’ve got one that’s diagonally/triangularly(??) panelled, in three colour blocks, white, black and navy).
necklace would be layered, with another medium length silver chain and long length chain, each with its own charm.
bag would be slung casually, black wet look blazer could be worn.
black bootie heels for feet, worn with white socks, or doc martens.
The bag I’d probably style with a high-waisted black wiggle skirt, patent black shoes with hidden platforms (perhaps peep toes?), cuban seamed tights and an off white secretary blouse. Dark eyes, blunt fringe, dark red lips for some colour and drama.
The necklace I can see with a carnival themed costume/outfit. Crazy curls piled high up on the head to expose the neck/decolletage, candy-striped shirt under a red waspie corset, a huge candy-striped bustle. Red lips, huge fake eyelashes, and a lot of sassy attitude.
Ok what would I wear?
Starting from the ground up, i’d wear black sequinned flats that sparkle from every angle
Black spartan tights from Black Milk (I can’t wait to order these online, they’re my number one crush)
An oversized singlet in either white or grey over a hot bra that can only jusssst be seen
And if it was cold, probably a boyfriend blazer with sleeves rolled up
Hair, well I wear my hair pretty much the same every day, loose, out and wavy
And very little makeup
Only my right hand filled with chunky silver rings including my beloved elephant ring
And to top it all off, the molar necklace, layered with a longer draping necklace, and the mini bag
Sounds good!
Loving your outfit as usual – and love those accessories! x
I would style the necklace and bag with a white cotton minidress, black boyfriend blazer, black opaques, and goldilocks floral doc martens. Hair would be loose and wavy, with the top part plaited and pinned round the crown.
I have been looking for the perfect little leather bag. This would be amazing!
I think I would probably wear a lacy, creamy, vintage, flowy top but one that it not bulky or detracts too much from the necklace, and then some really hardcore jeans. If I lived in my fantasy world, some bleached, ripped Balmain skin-tight jeans (but since I don’t, it’ll have to by DYI). Then some bangles and men’s watches and black booties of some sort, possibly open-toed with some lace socks just peeking out. I’d go simple with makeup and hair, and have a low, scoop neckline so that the focal point from the waist-up is the necklace.
I’d style the necklace and bag with a high-waisted houndstooth skirt, plain black tank topped off with a red peter pan collared cropped swing coat. 10 hole doc martens would complete the look.
I would carry the bag with a neutral blazer, white tee tucked into shorts with a scarf around the neck and the necklace over the scarf.
i’d probably offset the tough elements of the black leather bag and the silver pendant with some ultra feminine details, like a peter pan collar blouse or dress in pastels maybe even topped off with a floral headband, black velvet blazer/jacket on top and red t bar wedges. might even team the ensemble with some cream floral lace stockings to really play down the edginess with some sugary sweetness, cos that’s just how i roll
haha
Okay, I’ve been thinking about how I would style these (gorgeous!) accessories for a couple days now and I’ve decided to just go with what I know, and this is what I know – I am currently OBSESSED with these black Topshop thigh boots*. Seriously, I need them. Like, yesterday. So, boots. That’s where I’d start. Maybe with some woolen socks peeking over the top, if they even make socks that long.
I think I’d pair the boots with a big, comfy oversized jumper. Like this Topshop stag one** or this Kai-aakman black drape jumper*** which, let’s face it, is just plain amazing.
Now I just need some rad accessories. I’m thinking black and silver, I’m thinking rings, I’m thinking quirky with just a little touch of angry. Skulls**** and octopi***** always work, as do roses******.
Together with the lovely bag and necklace, it all sounds pretty perfect!
(And I realise this is kind of a winter-y outfit, but hey, that air conditioning can get pretty chilly.)

Hopefully those links work! Otherwise it’ll all be mighty less impressive.

Ok, so. I would pair these with a bright, I’m thinking purple, sweetheart dress with a full skirt, a black blazer and some really amazing shoes. Black heels with little bows on them, some thing like these: http://www.wittner.com.au/shop/shop.aspx?catid=115# but with a heel. And a big Alexander McQueen ring with a skull on it.
xoxo

I think this requieres a fairy-tale touch due to the little bag and the drink me, Alice necklace.
I would wear a knew length floral dress, with puffy shoulders and a low square neck line so that the lovely necklace would be visable. Along with this some plain black cotton stockings and if I had the money a pair of Marc Jacobs Canvas Ankle Boots ( http://www.splendicity.com/shopaholicsdaily/files/2009/04/canvas-ankle-boots.jpg) The bag would go well with the color co-ordination of the look. Inside would be my iphone, a pocket notebook with pen, some lucas paw paw lotion and a glittery cupcake shaped purse.
