Binge and Purge

When it comes to my living space, I’m a big fan of a good purge after a binge. I buy so much rubbish that it constantly fills my living space with perpetual chaos. I have inherited the hoarding gene so I find purging a little difficult and never really purge completely, but when I make the effort to take control and rid my space of the chaos I am a better person for it.

There is nothing I adore more than a quirky vintage interior with mismatched antique furniture and kitschy tidbits, but when it comes to purging, the most beautiful interiors to me are clean, white, minimalist spaces. Très Magnifique.

Some might say these rooms are sterile but to me they are clean, spacious, perfect.

if only i wasn’t so sentimental i’d have a bedroom like that in a heartbeat! i have too much stuff that means something or other to me, even if they’re little scraps of drawings my friends and i would doodle over our exercise books when we were bored in school

btw thanks for the recc on the mac liquid liner! they were having a 15% off sale at myer on bourke st so i popped in and have to say its so easy to use! :)

Oh Gosh what I would give to live there right now. My room looks like it has been hit by a bomb. I have a very lumpy floordrobe, textbooks and notes all over my desk, and a random towel hanging off a fan. It is appalling. Somebody save me. Please?

I couldn’t agree more. I’m always always, intrigued by the endearing quirkiness of a mismatched room but my jaw almost always drops at the stunning beauty of a crisp white interior.

seeing those kind of pictures makes me want to throw all my shit out. my parents really went for the ‘tacky wood panelling and carpets’ kinda deal, and it makes me long for clean white spaces.
photographs taken in there would look so great.
i love clutter too sometimes, but if i had to choose it would be minimalism.

I love minimalist design – I wish my house looked like this – but darker. Like, shades of greys and maybe some black? Not loving the white so much – because I am spill-prone :”(

That third picture though, the bathroom, OMFG! Divine.

Thanks for sharing darling.

wow i don’t think i would ever be able to live in a house like that…or keep it in that state.
it’s beautiful and blinding. except all that white makes me think of the sterile walls of a mental institute. haha. k i guess i’m not a minimalist.
